When thinking about wakeboarding it’s a good idea to talk to your parents about it because you will need them. You need them to get you a board, rope, and of course you will need a boat. So before you get all excited about wakeboarding think about if your parents have or will buy a boat because they are very expensive. |

After getting all of your equipment you are almost ready to go. The last things before starting are finding someone that knows how to drive a boat while you’re behind it and you need some smooth water to go on. When you first start wakeboarding it is not a smart not to smart to try going on really rough water. |
| Now you’re ready to go. When you are on the water get your board on. It is easiest to get in the water and do this because your boots and feet will be wet. Once you have your board on, you want to have your board’s bottom sticking out of the water. The bottom should be facing the boat and the board will be sideways. |
| When you’re all ready to go you want the driver to get the rope tight so there’s no slack in the rope. Then they floor it so that you pop out of the water. To get up you want to lean back and let the boat pull you up. When you start to come up, turn your board so that your feet are sideways. Hold on tight and try not to let go. |

You might not get up the first time but if you keep trying you will get it. Once you get up practice controlling the board. Don’t let it control you. Make sure your knees are bent a little and your back leg is straighter. Once you have the hang of it you can try moving the board back and forth inside the wake. | |
After doing this for a little you want to keep your knees bent and try to go over the wake. If you make it over it is going to be a little harder to get back over. You want to go into the wake with the front of the board going into it. |
