The goalie in lacrosse is the most important person. He tries to save all the shots that come on net. The goalie also has a crease that only his teammates are allowed in. The goalie may come out of the crease and go any where on his defending side of the field. His defending side is from the center field line, to the end line behind the net.

The defense helps the goalie in lacrosse. They normally play a zone with a left, center, and right defense man. The Defense men have 6 foot shafts to help them poke-check and block shots. |

The mid-field have to be fast and in shape to play their position properly. They are responsible to cover the defensive side and the offensive side of the field. There are three middies and they must work together to cover the whole field.

The left attack is responsible for the left side of the goal. They work together with the X- man and the right attack to score. When the ball is in the defensive zone, the left attack will be at the midfield line waiting for the ball. |

The right attack covers the right side of the goal. He works with the left attack and X- man. The right attack also stands with the left attack at the midfield line.

The X-man has many places to cover. He is like the quarterback in lacrosse. He calls the plays and executes them. The X-man stands behind the net. His job is to chase missed shots. While the left and right attack stand at the midfield line, the X-man stands behind them to get any balls they miss. |
