Flo Ayman

Flo was a 6’5” three time, All American.  She is considered one of the best players of all time.  She is known for her spiking and defensive skills.  Flo Ayman was the first American woman to be voted to the All-World Cup volleyball team.  She led the U.S. Women’s Olympic team to a silver medal in the 1984 Olympics.  When she went to Japan to play professional, she collapsed and died during a match in 1986.

 

 

Karch Kiraly

Karch played on the U.S. Olympic team.  He played in the Olympics in 1988.  He so good at spiking, that he even has his own famous spike.

 

 

Laura Davis

Laura is a player on the U.S. National Women's Volleyball team.  She is a person that had to rely on her 5-foot-7 height.  She was a star on her high school team.  When she graduated, she attended Ohio State on a full scholarship.  Laura earned the 1994 AVCA Div. 1 Player of the Year and Big 10 Player of the Year awards.

 

Ethan Watts

Ethan attended Brigham Young University, where he played volleyball for four years.  He made the first team All-American in his last year at Brigham in 1994.  Ethan was on the Athletic Honor Roll.  At the age of 22, he played on the U.S. Men’s Olympic Volleyball team in Atlanta in 1996.  He is now in Italy and playing for top team there and one of the best in the world.

 

 

Kerri Pottharst

Kerri plays on Australia’s team.  She plays beach volleyball.  Her teammate is Natalie Cook.  They won a gold medal, while playing against the Brazilian favorites.  They also won a bronze four years before they won the gold.

 

 

Rafael Pascual

Rafael is a player on the Spain indoor men’s volleyball team.  His team once played the Netherlands in Sydney, but lost three sets to one.
