Ben Roethlisburger was drafted to the Steelers in the 2004 draft. In the 2005 season he hurt his thumb, but that did not stop him. His total passing yards is 5,006. He is the youngest quarterback to win a super bowl. Right before the preseason started, he was in a huge motorcycle accident and was almost killed. The Pittsburgh fans still love him after that near death accident.

| Hines Ward was a 3rd round draft pick by the Steelers off of the Georgia Bulldogs in 1998. He is the Steelers all time leading receiver with 7,030 yards receiving. He is a 4 time pro bowl selection too. He also has 4 consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. He is the MVP of super bowl XL. He is known around the league because of his big smile. |

Willie Parker was signed as an un-drafted free agent with the Steelers in 2004. He scored a 75 yard touchdown in super bowl 40 which is the longest rushing touchdown in super bowl history. He so far rushed for 1,388 yards in his career with the Steelers. Since he is so fast Pittsburgh calls him “Fast Willie Parker”.

Joey Porter was a round 3 draft pick in 1999 from Colorado State. He so far has 294 tackles and 53 sacks in his career. He is arguably the most feared player in the NFL today. He is also the leader of our new and improved defense.

Troy Polamalu was a first round draft pick in 2003 off of USC where he was roommates with Carson Palmer. He so far has 170 tackles and 6 sacks in his career. He made the pro bowl in 2005 and 2006. He is probably the most recognized player on our team because of his long hair.

James Farrior played college at Virginia and was drafted to the Jets in 1997. He played with the Jets until 2001where he got traded to the Steelers. He is the quarterback of the defense which means he calls all of the plays.

Jerome Bettis “The Bus”, was picked in the 1st round by the Los Angeles Rams in 1993. He is 5th on the NFL’s all time rushing list with 13,662 yards. He was traded to the Steelers in 1996. He featured in 6 pro bowls and he won the Walter Payton award in 2002. He made an amazing exit to a perfect career of 13 seasons. He retired in his home town Detroit.

Bill Cowher replaced Chuck Knoll in 1992 as the Head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 1995 he became the youngest coach to make a super bowl appearance, at the age of 38. He has been with the Steelers for 14 seasons, which is the longest a coach has been with one team in the NFL. He led the Steelers to Super Bowl 40, and this time won it.
