Ford Shelby Mustang

In 1965, Carol Shelby customized mustangs and called them Shelby mustangs. To make them different from the rest, He made them lighter and gave them more horsepower. He also put different wheels and tires on them to make them have a higher performance and to give them a sleeker look. This was the fastest production car at its time. New they costed about $4,550.

 

 

Ford Gt-40

The Ford Gt-40 was built for the 24hr. Lemans race. After these cars became a success ford sold them as “mark III” models. These cars are being built again today and are replacing the older version in races. The original Gt-40’s are now being restored and kept as collector cars because they are worth so much.

 

 

The Boss Mustang

In 1970 the Boss Mustang was introduced. It had a 429 engine made for racing, but it would not fit into the stock frame so ford had to modify the frame to fit the bigger engine in it. These Boss mustangs also did good in trans-am races to.

 

      2005 Shelby Mustang G.T.500

This mustang has a 500 Hp. super charged 5.4 liter V-8. It goes for less than $50,000. It goes 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds, 0-100mph in 10.1 seconds, and 0-150mph in 28.6seconds.

 

         1965 Shelby Cobra

In 1965, the Shelby cobra was introduced. It had a small block 289 ci. engine , but was updated to a 345ci. 425 Hp. V-6. Since this car is so light with such a big engine it was a popular race car.
