Beagles are part of the hound group. They are the smallest hounds in the group. They come in to sizes, the fifteen inch and thirteen inch. They are usually black, white, and tan in color. Because of their size, they are a popular breed for medical research. They were used as scent hounds and many presidents of the United States of America owned them.

The West Highland White Terrier is also known as the “Westie.” Like the name suggests, the West Highland White Terrier’s fur is white and no other color. This is because one day, a hunter was hunting in the woods with his dogs that were all reddish-brown in color. The hunter shot what he thought was a fox and it ended up being one of his dogs. So the hunter from then on only bred and used dogs that were white in color. Westies can be stubborn if not trained early and often. They have boundless energy, so they need many activities to keep them busy or they will find some of their own. West Highland White Terriers can be about 25 pounds at the most and can be 10 inches from the ground. Despite their small size, this terrier makes a great guard dogs. However, the Westie isn’t for everyone. Their best home is a family with older children and a big fenced in yard. 

Pugs are a very recognizable dog and are part of the toy group. They can deal with younger children and are a very sturdy dog for its size. The pug’s trademark is its curly tail and its squished in face. This however, can cause breathing problems for pugs. They can run fast for a small dog.  

 The Bichon Frise is non-sporting dog. They are always white or off-white in color. They are known for their poofy appearance. They were used as trading items by sailors because of their value and exotic looks. They were most common in Spain but are now spread across the world.
