These are
two different examples of how to do a toe touch. A toe touch is when you
put your hands in a high V, then you swing them and try to touch your
toes. These are the most known jump in any kind of cheerleading. the toe
touch is also probably the easiest of the jumps. The way to make a toe
touch look higher is to take your hands and put them between your legs.
That is what a toe touch is like and how to do one. |

This is a
picture of a hurdler. The straight leg is either forward (a front
hurdler) with arms in a touch down, or out to the side (a side hurdler)
with arms in a T. The bent knee faces the crowd in a side hurdler. In
the front hurdler it faces the ground. A hurdler is a little bit harder
to do then a toe touch. It is also a jump that is a little like the
hurkie. That's how you do a hurdler. |

Another
jump used is a pike. This jump is among the most difficult of jumps.
Both legs are straight out, knees locked. the arms are in a touch
down motion out in fount to create a folded position in the air. This is
often performed at a ninety degree angle, pointed to the audience in
order to show off the air position. You usually don't see a lot of these
jumps because of how difficult it is. |

This is a
hurkie. This jump is similar to a side hurdler, except that instead of
both arms being in a T motion , both arms are opposite of what the leg
beneath them are doing. Example of this would be the straight arm would
be on the side of the bent leg. The bent arm is on the side of the
straight leg. One other variation of this includes the bent leg is
pointing straight down instead of out like the side hurdler. Hurkies are
also a hard just to do. |

The around
the world, or the pike out, is a jump where the performer hits two jumps
at once. They hit a pike then they whip their legs quickly back around
into a toe touch. This jump is regarded difficult to accomplish. Mostly
because two positions must be reached in the very short time that the
person doing the jump is in the air. Most of the time you won't see this
jump because not many people can do it, and it is very difficult.
