The Steelers were the world champs in 2005. They beat the Seattle Seahawks in Detroit’s Ford Field. To get to the Super Bowl they had to win three strait games on the road. The first game was against the Cincinnati Bengals. That was the game that Carson Palmer tore his ACL. The second game was against the Indianapolis Colts. We had lost to them earlier in the year. This time though we beat them because their kicker Mike Vanderjagt missed the game tying field goal that would have sent the game into overtime. The next week the Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Denver to play the Broncos. The Bronco’s quarterback Jake Plummer made the game close. Then the Steelers headed for Jerome Bettis’s hometown, Detroit to play the Seattle Seahawks for the Super Bowl. The game was great, not just because the Steelers won, but because the game had turnovers, big hits, and great trick plays. The Steelers won and were the Super Bowl champs. |
