The first place that the Fellowship comes to is the Mines of Moria. It used to be a very lively city of Dwarves, but it became overrun with Orcs. Gimli suggested going through here to make a quicker path on their journey, not knowing that it was overrun. But instead of having his cousin Balin welcome them in a royal manner, they were trapped in his tomb fighting off countless numbers of Orcs. They tried to flee the mountains, but a monster called a Balrog followed them. Gandalf fought it to save the Fellowship. |
