Defense Home

Ben Roethlisberger is the leader of the offense.  Ben has the arm to throw to any receiver.  Ben was a QB at Miami state of Ohio.  Since the accident, he had to get a special helmet called a revolution specially made so he won’t get a concussion.  Ben has a QB rating of 98.6.  He had 168-268 completions and attempts in the 2005-2006 season.

Jerome Bettis had 13 years of football under his belt when he retired.  He had the power to get extra yardage when we needed it.  On third down, the bus came in.  He’d get the handoff and cut up the middle for the 1st down.  In 2004 he was thinking of retiring, but he heard that Super Bowl XL was in Detroit, he decided to come back for one more year to try to get to the super bowl.  He ended up with his dream come true.

Offense

Jerame Tuman is a big threat in the red zone.  The red zone is around the five yard line when you’re going to score.  In the Indianapolis game in 2006, Jerome Bettis fumbled the ball at the two yard line, and the defense recovered it and started to run with it.  Ben Roethlisberger dove and grabbed his ankle not tackling him but slowing him down a lot.  Jerame Tuman came out of nowhere and tackled him.  The colts got yardage but never scored.  Pittsburgh won and that game sent them to Denver. he is the one on the right.

Willie Parker now has the shoes to fill for Jerome.  Last year Willie had 255 attempts and had a total of 1,202 yards.  He averaged 4.7 yards a carry and scored 4 touchdowns.  He ran a 75 yard touchdown is the super bowl.  Willie is now starting running back for the Steelers. he is in the bottom left setting up a block for Big Ben.

Dan Krieder is starting FB.  There is a chance that the new FB John Kuhn could start a couple games.  Dan is good at setting up blocks for Willie or the running back so the can break free.  When the defense blitzes and were running the ball, Dan sets up a block.  On other plays he will stay in the back field and protect the QB on a pass play.

Hines Ward can take a huge hit and get up like nothing happened.  Every time he takes a hit he gets up and smiles.  He caught 69 passes for 975 yards in the 2005-2006 season.  He averaged 14.1 yards a catch.  His longest catch was 85 yards.  Hines scored 3 touch downs in the super bowl. He has made the pro bowl a couple of times too.
