They call him the Hot Rod.  Out of southern California State, Troy Polamalu is one of the top strong safeties in the NFL.  In his career, he has 278 tackles, 6 interceptions, and has been named an All-American player in 2001.  At 5’ 10” 206lbs, Troy Polamalu is an offenses worst nightmare.  You never know where he is.  He can run up like he is going to blitz, and then he drops back to play corner. Troy can jump 3 feet into the air with no problem.  He is the leader of the defense.
 

Joey Porter is another leader of the defense.  He is 6’ 3in, and weighs 250lbs.  In his career he has made 294 tackles and 53 sacks at linebacker.  He has also made 8 interceptions for 165 yards.  With Joey Porter at linebacker and Troy Polamalu at strong safety, we have the defense to stop any team.

 
 

Larry Foote is an ILB (inside linebacker).  He is starter and plays really hard.  He played really well in the 2004 season.  He has 11-91 sacks and 212 tackles.  He went to the University of Michigan for college.  He has 3 career interceptions for 41 yards.

 
 

Ike Taylor is a reliable player.  He is good at corner back and can go in on kick return. He has 111 tackles.  He also has 2 interceptions with 28 assists.  On kick return he has 51 returns for a total of 1074 yards and averaged 21.1 a return.  His longest return was 53 yards.

 

                                                                                                           

                                                                                                               

 

  Mike Logan is a strong safety.  In his career he has forced 5 fumbles and 5 interceptions for 62 yards.  He also has 4.5 sacks for a loss of 28 yards.  He has 252 tackles, 62 assists for a total of 314 yards.  He has only played on the Steelers since 1997.  he went to West Virginia state university and came to Pittsburgh to play for the Steelers. He is 6”1- 211lbs and is a valuable player.

 
 

James Farrior is a good linebacker.  He is 6”2-243lbs and is very strong linebacker.  His recent career stats since 2004 are 581 tackles and 229 assists for a total of 810 yards.  He has 11.5 sacks (yards lost) 98.  Also he has forced 11 fumbles has 8 interceptions for 206 yds and has scored 1 defensive touchdown.  He joined the team in 1997. he is at the top of the pile.
