The referee’s job is to keep order in the game. He has full authority to enforce all of the laws of the game. He is assisted by two assistant referees. At the beginning of the game they check to make sure that everyone is wearing the proper equipment and wearing any watches, jewelry, ect. |

The soccer ball is the most important part of a game of soccer and it is the referees job to make sure that the ball meets the expectations of law 2. The ball must be spherical, made of leather or other suitable material, of a circumference of not more than 70 cm (28 in) and not less than 68 cm (27 in), not more than 450g (16 oz) in weight and not less than 68 cm (27 in), and of a pressure equal to 0.6-1.1 atmosphere (600-1100 g/cm2) at sea level (8.5 lbs/sq in 15.6 lbs/sq in). All of this basically means that you must use a size 5 ball. |

Offside is one of the most commonly misunderstood rule in the whole game of soccer. Someone is offside when he is nearer to his opponent’s goal line than both the ball and the second to last opponent and interfering with play or interfering with an opponent and getting an advantage by doing so. The diagram to the left is an example of a player being offside. |
