In hockey there are two defensemen. There is a left defensemen and there is a right defensemen. The defensemen’s jobs are to stop the other team’s forwards and get the puck off of them and get the puck up to the forwards. In hockey there are usually three lines of defensemen.

Here you see a two time winner of a verzina trophy. He was one of the best goalies of all time.

This is howwie morenz. He was hockey’s first super star. He was the Babe Ruth of hockey, but he died in 1937.

Here you see a goalie clearing the puck out of te zone. See all the forward in front trying to get the puck in the net, and the defense men were trying to clear it.

He you see bobby hull. He was one of the best players ever. He was a defense man.

Here you see a forward on a break away. The defense man is tripping him. This is a penalty, but if the forward has a breakaway it is a good penalty. Therefore the defense  man  did a good job.

Here you see a defense man trying to tie up a forward in front of the goalie. The reason they do that is because he is trying to get his stick down so he can tip the puck in and score.So the defense man needs to stop him from getting his stick down.
