Directing can be a lot of hard work. They make sure everything is runs smooth. Everyone is always talking to the director. He has to do almost everything, to produce the movie. That is what a director has to do at his job.

A manager has to manage a lot of stuff for the movie. He oversees the staff in his own office. He also watches the movie with the director first, before putting it in theaters. They prepare the budget too. That is what a manager does.
