Since the time of the Renaissance, this breed was known as the Bichon Teneriffe. In the 1500’s, the dogs were used as was booty. Bichon was established in the French royal court society between 1515-1547. In 1852-1870, the Bichon was popular once again with royalty during the reign of Napoleon3.
