There are three offensemen on the ice at a time. There shift should be between thirty seconds at forty five seconds. The positions are left wing, right wing, and center. The center is the best and usually scores the most. There are four lines of offense. The first and second lines are the best and get the most playing time. The fourth Is the worst and barely plays at all. The offense are the ones who try to score.

This is a slap shot. It is one of the three kinds of shots. There is a wrist shot, slap shot, and a snap shot.

This is a picture of Evgeni Malkin. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh penguins in 2004 second over all. But he didn’t play his first two seasons because in 2004 there was a lock out. In 2005 the Russians would not let him come over to the USA to play in the NHL. But now in 2006 he is playing for the Pittsburgh penguins. |

This is a picture of Wayne Gretzky he is retired and he won the top point’s scorer award ten times. Seven of them were consecutive. They retired his number. That means no one else can use it. He is in the Hockey Hall of Fame and considered the best hockey player ever. In his career he has 803 goals.
