There are two defensemen on the ice at one time, a left and a right defense.   The defense hit a lot.   The defense have to skate very fast backward.   The defenses are the most physical.   The goal is to stop the other team from getting shots.  The defense do not score very often they leave it up to the offense. 

Here you see some dude trying to stop.  You have to know how to stop if u want to play ice hockey. 

 Here is a team fighting.  In hockey you are aloud to fight till it gets really out of hand.  But when you’re done fighting you get a 5 minute penalty for fighting and you get a two minute penalty for roughing. 

Here you see players getting undressed after the game in the locker room.  This is where they get dressed and for the game and undressed.  They also go in here in between periods while they cut the ice. 

Here you see a picture of Chris Pronger.  He is one of the best defensemen in the NHL.  He played for the St. Louis blues in 2005 season.  But in 2006 he is now playing for the Edmonton Oilers.

This is a picture Scott Stevens he is retired and the last team he played for was the New Jersey Devils. He had 166 goals up until 1998 and he probably got a lot more after that. He won the most valuable player in the playoffs award one time.
