The Pittsburgh Steelers

Mean Joe was apart of one of the best defenses in NFL history. The “Steel Curtain” helped the 1970’s Steelers win 4 Super Bowls.

He was the Steelers number 1 draft pick in 1969. Chuck Noll said he needed a ferocious defensive player, and he found one in Mean Joe.

One of the greatest Pittsburgh Steelers linebackers ever was Jack Lambert. He was a towering monster at outside linebacker. From 1974-1983 he played in 9 straight Pro Bowls. Being apart of one of the best defenses in the NFL completed the steel curtain.

In 1990 the team needed a very good and talented defense to win their football games. Rod Woodsen was their stand out defensive back. He led the best secondary in the NFL.
Even though the Steelers lost to the Raiders in 1973, when they were supposed to go to the Super Bowl, they got a lot better. Jack Ham rose to the occasion. He played so well he received all pro honors.
Jack had 2 interceptions in the next AFC championship against Oakland. The Steelers went on to win the Super Bowl.
Greenwood went to college at Arkansas AM&N. He was drafted in 1969 by Chuck Noll in one of his best drafts of his life. He was a vital part of the "Steel Curtain" defense. Like Jack Ham he received all pro honors
Kevin played along Rod Woodson on one of the best defenses in the NFL. He led the run defense and the new "Steel Curtain." He helped the Steelers to an AFC title game, but lost a close one to the Chargers.
