Dogs are faithful and lovable pets, but their relationships with some people go much farther than that.  Dogs perform many services to humans, such as being rescue dogs or police dogs.  However, in my opinion, the most important tasks service dogs do are services for handicapped people.  Service dogs like hearing-ear dogs and guide dogs help the blind and the hearing impaired live independently. This site focuses on the latter two types of service dogs.
