He was always considered a good golfer but never an elite golfer because of his inability to win a major. He finally won the Masters in 2004 to win his first major championship. Since then he has won the PGA Championship and the Masters a second time.

        Vijay Singh was number one player on the tour a couple years ago. He turned pro in 1982 and has won 29 tournaments since then. He has finished second 22 times and has finished third 14 times. In all he has 148 top ten finishes over his career.

        Ernie Els was born in Africa. He turned pro in the year 1989. A couple years ago he was on of the best golfers on tour. He has hurt his knee since then and hasn’t been the same since. He has one 15 tournaments and he has 88 top ten finishes

        Retief Goosen was born in South Africa. He turned pro in 1990. He has become one of the great golfers of today. He is best known for his great finishes in the U.S. Open because of his ability to put the ball in the fairway and his great short game.

        Jim Furyk has had a great career and season so far. He is second on the money list this year and he has won two tournaments and has eleven top ten finishes. He hasn't won any majors this year but he has come close in each of them.
