Get Smart about Stoopid; Slightly Stoopid AND Jack Johnson

Slightly Stoopid is the most unique band I personally have ever heard in my life. They successfully fuse rock, acoustic, blues reggae, hip-hop, and punk. They have a signature sound that is incomparable to any other. They have dual front-men( Kyle and Miles). Miles and Kyle have known each other since they were two years of age and they grew up around each other their entire life's. They have known each other so long and bonded so greatly that they no longer refer to each
other as friends or band mates, but as brothers: which in my opinion is part of the reason their music flows so perfectly. They have been together as a band for 11 years and counting. Although they have not made money the entire time they have made some great music. Since their music fuses so many genres, they have many influences. Their acoustic influences are Cat Stevens, Tom Petty, Django, Reinhardt, and The Grateful Dead. They have many reggae and dub influences to name a couple they are Yellowmen
and Augustus Pablo. Their more modern punk and rock influences are RHCP and Sublime. Sublime's lead singer Bradley James Nowell created a record label before his death named Skunk Records. As Sublime reputation grew so did their label. In 1995 Bradley Nowell heard the sound of Slightly Stoopid and was immediately impressed. He offered them a record deal that they couldn't refuse. Miles and Kyle were officially singed before they even graduated from high school. A couple of years later after extensive gigging and performing on coastal tours, Miles and Kyle recorded a live album on San Diego's 105.3 radio station. The album was titled Live and Direct: Acoustic Roots.
