                          STEVE HARRIS

Steve Harris was born on March 12th, 1956 in London, England. He was an amazing soccer player and he would have been a professional player if he wasn't such a good bass player. He taught himself to play bass at an early age and joined numerous bands before he formed Iron Maiden with Dave Murray. He is the primary songwriter in Maiden and occasionally sings.

 

DAVE MURRAY

Dave Murray was born on December 23rd, 1956 in England. He is one of the lead guitarists in Iron Maiden. He was best friends with bass player Steve Harris during childhood. His family was extremely poor, because his father was disabled. He never did well in school, and dropped out at age 15. He joined Steve Harris and formed Maiden after quitting many bands.

 

NICKO MCBRAIN

Nicko McBrain was born Michael Henry McBrain on June 5th, 1952 in London, England. His stage name (Nicko) was born from a bear he used to carry around as a child, which he called Nicholas. He replaced Clive Burr in 1983 for the album, Piece of Mind, and has been with Maiden ever since. Unlike most metal drummers, McBrain only uses a single bass drum, while other use double bass drums. He tried a double bass in "Face In The Sand", but hated it and switched back to single.

 

BRUCE DICKINSON

Bruce Dickinson was born August 7th, 1958 in Nottinghamshire, England. He was not the original singer of Iron Maiden, but he replaced Paul Di'Anno after Di'Anno's drug problems caught up with him. He joined during the Number Of The Beast album, and immediately became a huge success. He briefly left Maiden to start a successful solo career and was replaced by Blaze Bayley. Bayley departed after one album, and Dickinson returned to Maiden.

 

ADRIAN SMITH

Adrian Smith was born on February 27th, 1957 in London, England. He joined Maiden in late 1980 and stayed with them until 1989. He returned in 1999 for the "Ed Hunter" tour. During his leave from Maiden, he played guitar for a band Psycho Motel. Smith, Murray, and Gers combine to from one of the most amazing guitar trifectas in metal music.

 

JANICK GERS

Janick Gers was born January 27th, 1957 in Hartlepool, England. He has been with Maiden since 1990 and continues to play guitar with the same power and excitement. He is the main guitarist in Maiden when it comes to fast solos, and is also a masterful composer. His main influence is Ritchie Black more from Deep Purple, and he has copied many poses and styles from him.
