Hanoverians

Hanoverians are commonly used for dressage.  The Westphalian is another name for them.  They range in height from 16 to 17 hands high.  They come in any solid color, they normally have white on their legs, and sometimes on their face.  The Hanoverian is good for dressage because of their long action.

Selle Français

The Selle Français, meaning French Saddle Horse, was pretty much developed to be a show jumper.  they range in height from 15.2 to 16.3 hands high.  They come in any solid color yet, they are normally chestnut.  The Selle Français is good for show jumping because of their well-muscled legs and their powerful hindquarters.

Connemara

The Connemara is a large pony and can be used for hunter.  They range in height from 13 to 14.2 hands high.  They come in all solid colors including dun, but mainly gray.  The Connemara is good for hunter because of their strong elegant legs and well-balanced action.

Irish Draught

The Irish Draught is a good eventer.  They range in height from 15 to 17 hands high.  They come in all solid colors, but black is rare.  They also have white on their legs or face.  The Irish Draught is a good eventer because of their natural jumping ability and stamina.

Thoroughbred

the Thoroughbred is and excellent racehorse.  They range in height from 15.2 to 16.2 hands high.  The come in all solid colors and sometimes black.  The Thoroughbred is the fastest horse in the world which is what makes them a great racehorse.  They are good for it because of their speed and stamina.

Quarter Horse

The Quarter Horse is and excellent horse for western games, especially barrel racing.  They range in height from 15 to 16 hands high.  They come in all solid colors including dun and roans.  The Quarter Horse is the most common breed found for barrel racing.  It is good because of its powerful hind-quarters.
