Kurt was born on February 27, 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington. Kurt’s mother stayed at home with Kurt and his younger sister Kim. From and early age, music was apart of Kurt’s life. Some of his family members played professional music. At age 4, Kurt amazed on of his aunts. He sat down at the piano and made up words to a song. Kurt also liked to draw. But his talent came with a problem that haunted Kurt all his life. Kurt was never satisfied with his creations. When Kurt was in 2^nd grade, one of his drawings was chosen for the cover of the school newspaper. Instead of being happy, Kurt was sad. People wondered if Kurt’s drug problems began this early. Kurt started to smoke weed in junior high, then later he turned to LSD, heroin, and other strong drugs.

Kurt’s life became harder at age 9 because his parents divorced. On Kurt’s 14^th birthday, his uncle gave him an electric guitar. Kurt used it to express his feelings and loss. Kurt spent most of his time playing the guitar alone. On tour in 1994, Kurt overdosed. He came home and his friends and Courtney made him go to a center. Kurt took himself out after two days. About a day or two later Kurt killed himself with a shot gun. Kurt was only 28 years old when he died. He left a beautiful wife and a wonderful daughter behind. He died On April 5, 1994.
