Huere Darquier is 24 years old, and she is from Argentina. Her real first name is Lia, but she changed it when she was two. She said she likes Huere better because it means “tree of life”. One of her nicknames is Speed Demon because she loves going fast, which is why she tries to avoid super-technical terrain. She’s a typical big-mountain freeskier. Some of her accomplishments in her career are placing second at last year’s U.S. Freeskiing Nationals in Utah, and taking 11th at Les Arcs, France. When she was 14 she had podium finishes in slalom and championships in Europe and Argentina. Her biggest accomplishment though is hitting a 12-foot rock at full speed and getting about 30 feet in the air (the most of ANY female competitor). She is very successful especially when she adds her Latina fire. |
