Beagles and basset hounds are both in the hounds group.  They were originally bred for hunting purposes.  The breeds are cousins to each other.  Both or their colors or markings are similar to each other.  The colors usually found in beagles and basset hounds are brown black and white.  Both breeds are known as “scent hounds”, and would make and awesome family member.
