“Young Frankenstein” was made in 1974. It is said that the earliest pre-writing for “Frankenstein” was before another Brooks classic “Blazing Saddles”. That is why Gene wilder was a supporting actor in “Blazing Saddles”, with his famous line “My name is Jim, but most people call me…..Jim.” |

The plot is the Dr. Frankenstein (Gene Wilder), a college professor, is embarrassed at his grandfather’s attempts to “awaken the dead”. Then he inherits his grand father’s house and al of its contents. The castle used in this movie was the same one used in the other “Frankenstein” movies. Leaving his fiancée (Madeline Kahn) behind, he ventures to Transylvania to see his inheritance. |

| This is where he meets Igor (Marty Feldman) who is supposed to be his servant, Inga (Terri Garr) who is his lab assistant, and his maid Fro Blucker, whose name makes the horses squeal. |

When he gets to Transylvania, he falls in love with Inga. He realizes that his grandfather’s idea to” raise the dead” could work, so he attempts to do it. | |
