Hera is surprisingly Zeus’s sister and wife. This is one of the things that make Greek mythology messed up. Hera is the goddess of marriage and queen of the Olympian gods and goddesses. Hera is also known as Juno.

| Athena is one of Zeus’s daughters. She is the goddess of handicrafts, Athens (Greece), the protector of civilized life wisdom, and battle. She was created by her father eating her when she was a baby and years later emerging from Zeus’s head. His head was split open after going to another god and asking to be hit in the head with a hammer because of a headache. Athena is also known as Minerva. |

Demeter is the sister of Zeus and the mother of Persephone, maiden of spring. She is the goddess of grain. Demeter is also known as Ceres.

| Artemis is another daughter of Zeus. She is the goddess of wild things, the moon, and she is the huntress goddess. She is Apollo’s twin sister which is ironic because she is the goddess of the moon and Apollo is the god of the sun. Artemis is also known as Diana. |

Persephone is Zeus’s niece. She is the daughter of Demeter the goddess of grain. Persephone is Hades’s wife and the queen of the underworld. she also is the maiden of spring. Persephone is also known as Prosepina |
| This is the most famous of goddesses. Aphrodite is the goddess of love and beauty and she is the mother of cupid. Aphrodite was born from not a god or a goddess but the foam of the ocean. Aphrodite is also known as Venus. |

Pandora isn’t exactly a goddess but she is a well known figure of Greek mythology. She was molded out of clay and she was given as a wife to a man. Pandora was given a small box which was never to be open due to it holding all of the awful and terrible things imaginable. She was also given the trait of curiosity which caused her to accidentally unleash distrust, gossip, and lies into the world. |
| Selene isn’t much of a goddess either but she is known as not the goddess of the moon but the moon itself. She was to light up the world when her brother Helios (the sun) was sleeping. Slowly she rid her milk white horses across the sky. Her pale moon beams fell gently on sleeping earth where all was peace and quiet. |

Also not really a goddess but Arachne is known to be a young lady that challenged Athena the goddess of crafts, to a weaving competition. Arachne won but Athena was so jealous and so mad that she transformed Arachne into a spider so she could weave webs for the rest of her life. |
| Psyche isn't a goddess but she was well mistaken for Aphrodite because of her great beauty. Her and cupid (the god of love) fell in love. Aphrodite (goddess of love and beauty and the mother of cupid) didn't approve of this so she mad it forbidden for them to ever see each other. Since Cupid and Psyche were in love they still continued to see each other. They were married shortly after. |
