Lacrosse Extras

There are many different types of stringing. It all depends on personal preference, but custom ones have certain qualities. Some are easy to maintain, some are durable, and some just flat out perform any other. Pockets can be made out of mesh or out of nylons and leathers. There are also big ones that the goalies use.

There are many different types of mesh. For instance, there is the soft mesh. It is very easy to maintain and is not that durable, and doesn’t perform that well. It is the cheapest which is a good thing. It doesn’t hold a pocket that well. It comes standard on the beginner level complete stick.

The hard mesh is the next step up from the soft mesh. It is a little more work to maintain, very durable, and really performs well. It gets off some of the fastest shots. It is the most commonly used pocket out there, and it is only a little more money  than the soft mesh.

The mega mesh is the best mesh you can buy. It is like the hard mesh, but the diamonds are bigger. It has the same maintenance, but is more durable, and out performs the hard mesh. By far this is the best mesh pocket you can get and is a little more than the hard mesh.

The last type of player mesh is the rail mesh. It is one of the best mesh pockets, except the mega mesh is still better. It is like the hard mesh, but has two rails that come down the middle, (kind of like the traditional). It has some maintenance, very durable, and performs really well and is about the same as the hard mesh in price.

The colored mesh is all the different meshes, just in an assortment of colors. They have the same performance, but just look really cool. There are red, black, blue, orange, yellow, green, gold, and many more. They cost a little more than the regular (white) version of it, but are so worth it.

The traditional is the best pocket out there, but has the most maintenance by far. It takes a long time to make, but the wait is worth it. It has the best accuracy, the hardest shot, but still has a lot of maintenance. You have to buy leathers, nylons, and hockey laces to do it yourself, or have someone else do it for twice as much.

There are also the custom pockets. These are the best for personal preference. They are similar to the traditional pocket, but just different variations of it. They are the same high maintenance as the traditional, and are just as durable, but probably out perform the traditional. It also probably costs more depending on what supplies you need.

There are also different pockets for goalies. Though they are the same as the ones for players, they are bigger heads so they have an easier time making a save, and still be able to throw the ball pretty far.
