The Three Stooges

"Nac, Nac, Nac, Nac," if you have ever seen the Stooges you know who's voice that is. If you haven't seen the Stooges, that voice belonged to the beloved Curly Howard. Curly was the fat "teddy bear" Stooge. Curly's favorite room was the kitchen
Curly Howard was born Jerome Lester Horwitz on October 22, 1903. He was the fifth of five boys, and the younger brother of Moe and Shemp. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. His real last name was Horwitz, but the producers from Hollywood changed it to Howard because it was more easily understood.

Curly was the original third Stooge. Away from the television, he was a great tenor singer, and a good ballroom dancer. Curly married four times and had two kids, Marilyn and Jamie, both with different women.

As a boy, Curly accidentally shot himself in the foot while cleaning his rifle. His brother Moe thought that it was this pain, which he had all of his life, and his short unattractive haircut that lead to Curly drinking a lot later in his life. This constant drinking eventually lead to the death of Mr. Curly Howard in 1952.
Also, Moe Howard thought that the heavy drinking, lead to Curly's stroke on the set of "Half-Wits Holiday". Curly fell ill form the stroke and retired in 1947.  He later had more strokes. Sadly Curly left us, just as everyone does, on January 18, 1952. He was 48 years old. That was way way to young for the "teddy bear" Stooge to leave his fan base for good.
Even though Curly was not always the smartest I ask you this question, "Don't we all wish we were all like Jerome "Curly" Horwitz "Howard"?"

Shemp Howard

Did you know that in Jewish culture a boy becomes a man at the age of 13? Well, in Stooge culture, a boy becomes a man when loves Shemp. Shemp came on as the third Stooge after his brother, Curly, fell ill in 1947. At first, Columbia, the Stooges studio, was reluctant to hire Shemp, saying that "he looked too much like his brother Moe." Although they soon changed their minds, after movie theaters demanded Stooge films.
Shemp Howard was born on March 17, 1895, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the third of five boys, and older brother of both Moe and Curly. Being the oldest Shemp had the most responsibilities growing up and did not have as much time to "screw around" as his younger brothers did.
In 1925, Shemp got married to the lovely Gertrude Frank. Later on in the marriage they had one son. His name was Mort. All of a sudden, though, Shemp suffered a heart attack. Following the heat attack, on November 23, 1951 Shemp Howard died. He was 60 years old.
As a top-flight physician comedian, Shemp was always concerned about his body. Nursing a bum leg, he told a physician not to amputate it because "I've had it ever since I was a little kid."
Once he took over for Curly, Stooge fans thought that it would never be the same. Shemp, though, filled in nicely and he is now in our hearts forever.
