Tigers are known as being the biggest cat there is. Not all tigers are orange and black, some tigers are white and black, and sometimes even have blue eyes! Tigers use stealth tactics to hunt their prey. Tigers try to stay undetected as long as they can when following their prey. Then the tiger would leap up and attack the prey with their teeth. Along with being the biggest cat the tiger has the biggest canine teeth too.

Lions are the only kind of cat that lives in groups, also called prides. They all live together in specific territories, these territories can go up to ten miles! When lions roar they are claiming their own territory, these roars can travel up to five miles long!

Believe it or not, but black panthers have a coat of almost invisible black spots. Black panthers are usually known as panthers, but really they are leopards. The only difference between a black panther and a leopard are their eyes. A black panther’s eye is blue while a leopard’s eye is brown!

The leopard is known as the smallest of the big cats. Leopards only weigh about 100 pounds, while the largest cat the tiger weighs about 600 pounds. Leopards are the master at the surprise attack. This cat is known as the most graceful of wild cats which helps them at surprise attacks. Theses cats are also the best wild cat at climbing trees too. Leopards are one of the hardest cats to spot, the one thing that gives them away are their tails, leopards have very long tails that hang down far when in a tree. That is how you spot a leopard.

All cats are good at hearing, especially the lynx. Lynxs’ ears are very important because when living out in the wild they need hear everything. Along with hearing well lynxes can land perfectly on all fours like most cats, the reason for this is the natural gyro-scope in their ears. As a kitten, lynxes especially, they are very curious. Since they live in the wild and are one of the most curious kittens lynxes have to be very careful where they wander off to.

Faster than a sports car! Cheetahs are the fastest cat there is. Cheetahs have the ability to go from zero to forty miles in two seconds! They can do this so easily because their spine is very flexible. Cheetahs are very unique cats, one because of their speed and two because of the reason that they are the only cats that can’t retract their claws!
