Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers have had 2 major coaches from 1969-2006, Chuck Noll, and Bill Cowher. Chuck Noll led the squad from 1969-1991, and Bill Cowher took over in 1992 and is currently our head coach. Superbowl IX Steelers vs. Minnesota Vikings was ended with a final score Steelers 16, Vikings 6. Led by Chuck Noll, the Steelers of 1975 were a solid team that would go on to win 3 more Superbowl titles with Chuck Noll.

The Steelers of '76, once again led by Chuck Noll, were in for their 2nd title against the Dallas Cowboys. The Steelers won with a score of 21-17. Superbowl X was won by the Steelers by a touchdown. Lynn Swann had the game winning touchdown by a 70-yard pass from Terry Bradshaw. Swann ended up with four receptions and a first-quarter catch over Washington that made the win.

In the years 1979 and 1980, the Steelers would once again, win 2 Superbowls in a row, with 1979 against the Dallas Cowboys AND 1980 against the Dallas Cowboys and 1980 against the Los Angeles Rams. In 1979, the final score was 35-31 with the Steelers coming out as the winners. In 1980, the Steelers beat the Rams 31-17.

The coach who, in 2006, won our team’s first Superbowl since 1980 was Bill Cowher. Cowher, who started as our head coach in 1992 had his second opportunity to win his first Superbowl since the loss of 1996 to the Dallas Cowboys 21-17. Mostly everybody in Pittsburgh loves Bill Cowher as our head coach and is proud to have him to lead our Steelers. There are tons and tons of Steelers fans in Pittsburgh and I think that we all are lucky to have Bill Cowher to coach our team.

Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher are two amazing coaches who made the Steelers win their five Superbowl rings. The Steelers family is a great team that will go on to win more Superbowls in the next ten to twenty years.
