The 2005-2006 Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are aligned in a 3-4 defense, which has three linemen, four linebackers, two cornerbacks, and two safeties. The three linemen are Aaron Smith, Casey Hampton, and Kemo Von Oelhoffen. The four linebackers are Joey Porter, James Farrior, Larry Foote, and Clark Haggans.  The Cornerbacks are Ike Taylor and Deshea Townsend. The Safeties are Chris Hope and Troy Polamalu. The Steelers defense has led the AFC in sacks the last two years. Troy Polamalu has led the team two straight years in interceptions. Aaron Smith led the team with 8 sacks in 2004 and Joey Porter led the team this year with 10.5 sacks. The team has outscored opponents 389 points to 258 points thanks to their awesome defense. The Steelers now have five Super Bowl wins, and they finally got the one for the thumb.

Defense obviously wins championships because the Steelers won the Super Bowl this year. The Steelers are now world champions and America’s team. Hopefully the Steelers keep up the great defense and bring home a second consecutive championship. The Steelers are a great team with a lot of great young talent. Since Dick Lebeau has come back the Steelers have been named “Blitburgh” and they are now a defensive powerhouse. The Steelers Defense will have bone crushing hits and heavy hits to the quarterbacks and they will do anything in their power to get back to the Steelers.
