Pittsburgh Steelers

 

 

 

 

The first and second games for the Steelers started out great. Game number one vs. the Titans was a win for the Steel at home, 34-7. That game Ben Roethisberger passed for 218 yards and two touchdown passes. Game number two was on the road against the Texans. Steelers again came up on top with a score 27-7, with Ben passing for 254 yards and two touchdown passes. Parker rushed for 111 yards, and the Steel Curtain had a record eight sacks on opposing QB David Carr.

 

 

Game number three was against the Patriots with the Patriots winning 23-20. Despite the lose Ben threw for 216 passing yards. Game number four was a scare for all of Pittsburgh when Ben got a knee injury on the last drive of the game. Steelers still came up on top though winning 24-22 against the Chargers. Against the Jaguars it was the Steels second regular season lose with Maddox starting for the first time since 2004, and throwing three interceptions.

 

 

Games six, seven, and eight were three wins for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Game six verses the Bengals was the first game back for Ben, and he only passed for 93 yards, but the defense forced two interceptions. Final score 27-13. Game seven against the Ravens was close, score 20-19. Hines Ward had a great game making an acrobatic catch, then Jeff reed winning the game. Number eight was a win against the Greenbay Packers. Batch was in for Ben and Staley for Willie. The Steelers won 20-10 despite all of the substitutions.

 

 
  Against the Browns in game nine the Steelers beat their rivals 34-21. Charlie was at QB again and passed for 150 yards before getting a hand injury. Game ten vs. the Ravens, Steelers were defeated 16-13. Maddox was in and Parker was back. Maddox passed for 230 yards but struggled to get the ball into the end zone. That lose ruined the on road win stick for Pittsburgh.

 

  Colts and Bengals were loses but in game 13 Steelers beat the Bears. Roethisberger was in against the Colts but the entire offence was held to 197 yards. Ben was on a roll against the Bengals with 386yards, but there was still the Bengals on top. the Bears game was home and it was snowing. Jerome Bettis rushed for 101 yards in original Pittsburgh weather.

 

  The last three games of the Steelers regular season were wins. The Vikings lost to the Steelers 18-3. Big Ben quarterback rating was 90 plus. Ben also scored the only touchdown of the game. Game 15 the Curtain shot out the Browns 41-0. Ike Taylor and the D frustrated the Browns all afternoon. The defense had eight sacks. The last game was against the Lions and we won  35-21. Jerome Bettis has three rushing touchdowns in what could have been the last game of his career.
