  Jimi Hendrix is unarguably the best guitarist of all time. In his four years as a band leader he completely changed the place of the guitar in a band. He brought it out into the open instead of just being a support for the vocalist. He also is even by today’s rigorous standards. He was such an awesome guitar player no one has ever been able to duplicate the effects and way he played guitar.
  Randy Rhoads is one of the best guitarists of the 1980’s. He started in the band Quiet Riot but left after two albums to play as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist. He recorded two albums with Ozzy until his death in 1982 and he did more for rock and roll than most people do in their entire life. He will always be remembered as a legendary guitarist. He played a Jackson Flying V guitar.                           
 

Yngwie Malsteen is widely considered to be one of the best guitarists alive today. He was also one of the most technically accomplished guitarists of the 1980s. His style of music is a mix of classical and modern heavy metal music. He also set the bar higher than ever with his sixth-fourth note arpeggios and very technical guitar playing.

 

Ritchie Blackmore is one of the best guitarists of the 1970s. He is the lead guitar for a band called Deep Purple but he left in 1974 to form a band with Ronnie James Dio called Rainbow. He returned to Deep Purple in 1984.

 

Eddie Van Halen is a guitarist born in Holland. He immigrated to America when he was about 6 years old. He is in a band called Van Halen, named after him and his brother’s last name. He has been with Van Halen for all of thier albums as the guitarist. He was one of the last people to Show use what the guitar should sound like.
