Jellyfish seem to be very odd creatures to most people. This is usual though because jellyfish have some very weird attributes. First off, jellyfish have no brain, heart, kidney, liver, or any other organs all they need is a nervous system. Secondly, Jellyfish have very unusual shaped bodies, because they have to shape due to having no bones. Jellyfishes’ bodies are 95% water. They also have very fragile skin, some species disintegrate if touched. The good side to such thin skin is that the jellyfish needs no lungs to breathe because oxygen in the water passes right through it. Jellyfish are very bizarre but if this style of life works for them, it’s awesome! |

Jellyfish do have to eat just like every other living creature. Jellyfish simply eat smaller fish in the sea. They electrocute their prey to kill it. It then uses it’s tentacles to eat. This is how jellyfish defend themselves too, by giving a painful sting of poison. |

Not all type of jellyfish can hurt humans. Jellyfish that are in certain places are completely harmless to humans. This is because their poison cells are extremely weak. People actually swim through these jellyfish and never feel a thing. People sometimes swim through a group of about 7000 jellyfish. Basically, there are some things not worth be afraid of. |

There are many types of Jellyfish. All of these types are very different. Some of these creatures are very large, and others can be smaller than your hand. A black sea nettle jellyfish can reach 25 feet long, which is quite long. They can be different colors and styles too. Jellyfish names often resemble their appearance like the spotted jellyfish has spots, the box jellyfish is shaped like a box, and the lion mane jellyfish has long yellow tentacles around it. It’s important to know what are what kinds because some are very poisonous and could kill you. The Box jellyfish is the most poisonous and can kill you with one sting.
