Dolphins are very intelligent and fun creatures that you now have a chance to gain knowledge about. This will be a great and education webpage for everyone. Scroll on down to learn about a dolphin’s diet, how they play and get along, and basic life for a dolphin.

For dolphins to eat it requires a few steps. First dolphins need to use sonar to find their food. Sonar is when a dolphin makes a sound and it reflects off something around and the dolphin can tell what it is and how far away it is. Once a dolphin has located a fish it speeds up to catch up with the fish. Finally, it’s chowtime! Dolphins eat an average of 10 to 20 pounds of food a day.
Dolphins don’t just hunt though, they get hunted. Some sharks and the killer whale enjoy a dolphin for food. The dolphin on the left has an injury from a cookie-cutter shark. Luckily, that dolphin got away but those dolphins better watch out!
Dolphins seem to love to play games and have fun. They can go up to 25 miles per hour. One game dolphins like is racing. Two or more dolphins will get ready and leap out of the water, when they hit the surface they take off. Dolphins also enjoy playing tag.

Racing and tag aren’t the only things dolphins play though; they love to jump out of the water. They can jump an impressing 10 feet in the air. Not only can they jump, while in the air they spin around up to 7 times. They also dance across the water on their tailfin. Dolphins love to play and challenge each other.

Dolphins are more like humans than you would expect. First off, dolphins are warm-blooded like most land animals. Dolphins also need to breathe oxygen. Dolphins last around an hour every time the get oxygen.

This mammal is very successful and awesome. Dolphins hunt, beware of creatures eyeing them for a meal, and handle a basic life while still having fun. They seem to be enjoyable and I hope you agree!
