Early Years Bo was born November 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. Bo’s real name is Harold Elwin Bice, Jr., but he is called ‘Bo’ from his nickname ‘Bogart’ when he was a child. He gets the name from a famous actor in the movie Casablanca.

Bo’s career started when he was only nine years old when he won a local school competition. Later, after highschool, he turned professional and performed in shows all across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. He performed solo and in rock groups such as his current band Sugar Money. He also performed live with Johnny Neal from the Allman Brothers Band. |

Though, in 2001and 2003 Bo was in trouble with drugs. He was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana right before he auditioned for American Idol, but was forthcoming and was allowed to stay in the competition.

The Competition During the competition Bo was no doubt, flying through it every week. So many people loved how he sang and him. He always rocked the stage. When week ten came around, he decided he would amaze America. So he sang ‘Within a Dream’ without any band to back him up! He also got to sing with his idols, Lynyrd Skynyrd. The song he sang was ‘Sweet Home Alabama’.

Year 2005 Bo has had many years he will remember, but he will always remember year 2005. Bo Bice, a southern rocker, rocked his way up to second place in American Idol. He then rocketed to billboard number 1 with ‘Inside your heaven’, he got a great recording deal with RCA, married his love, Caroline Fisher, and went on tour, but that’s not all. Bo became a father on September 23 to Aiden Bice right after he had intestinal surgery.
