Carrie Underwood was born in Muskogee Oklahoma, and later moved to Checotah Oklahoma, where she grew up. Steve and Carole are Carrie’s parents. She also has two older sisters Shanna and Stephanie.

 

 

 

                      

 

 

The soon to be rising star started singing at a young age. Carrie preformed at her church and at many festivals, she continued loving singing but did not take it as seriously as school. Carrie was enrolled in Northeastern State College majoring in mass communication. She was also a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.

 

 

                   

 

In 2005 Carrie Underwood tried out for American Idol. The judges fell in love with her, and she breezed trough round by round. Over the course of the Competition not only did Carrie sing but she played the guitar as well. On May 25th, 2005 she became the fourth winner of American Idol.

 

 

 

                  

 

 

After being named American Idol, Carrie got busy with Arista Records working on making an album. She did not stop there she also preformed “The Star Spangled Banner” before the 2005 NBA Finals. Hershey also wanted Carrie staring in their ads and singing Hershey Jingles. Underwood is also a spokesperson for Sketchers shoes.

 

 

 

 

                 

 

Usually new artists do not make double Platinum records on their albums. However Carrie Underwood’s album Some Hearts sold over 315,000 copies. It’s first week on the market. “Inside Your Heaven” which only listed at number 59 on country charts. Later she came out with her second single “Jesus Take The Wheel” putting her 39th on the charts.

 

 

 

 

                 

 

Carrie Underwood has many interesting facts and favorite things just like any artist would. Her favorite food is pizza and favorite types of movies are horror films. She also loves country and pop music, and her favorite singer is Martina McBride. Carrie also likes Care bears and collects bunnies.
