Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry's link to Voldemort becomes ever more pronounced throughout the fifth year when the dark wizard's feelings filter through to Harry's mind.  Harry’s lightning scar burns more fiercely than ever before.  Since the end of the fourth year and the gruesome finale to the Tri-Wizard Tournament, Cornelius Fudge has been strongly denying the return of Lord Voldemort.  Because of Dumbledore disagrees with Fudge, he is stripped of many official honors, including the Order of Merlin, First Class and the position of Supreme Mugwump of the Wizengamot. Minister Fudge is convinced Dumbledore is trying to steal his job even though the Headmaster of Hogwarts was offered the post first and declined.  They try to discredit Harry presenting him as delusional and an attention seeker.  Not many people in the wizarding world believe that Voldemort has returned mainly because, like Fudge, they do not want to believe it.

Besides having all this to deal with, Harry and his friends are facing their hardest school year yet as they prepare for their Ordinary Wizarding Level exams.  The Ministry, in an attempt to interfere with the running of Hogwarts, appoints his own undersecretary as Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher.  She issues a number of decrees to increase her authority, growing ever wilder as the year goes on.  Harry, his friends, and a group dedicated to the downfall of Lord Voldemort form the Order of the Phoenix.  Led and protected by Albus Dumbledore, they attempt to follow the movements of the Dark Lord and his followers.
