We all know her as Alexis Bledel but in fact her real name is Kimberly Alexis Bledel. She started going by Alexis at birth. Bledel was born on September 16, 1981 in Houston Texas to Nanette Bledel and Martin Bledel. Both of Alexis’s parents are actually from other countries. Her father is from Argentina and her mother is from Mexico. This caused Alexis’s first language to be Spanish. Her current height is 5’7. She has a younger brother named Eric. Alexis was very shy when she was growing up so her parents decided to put her into a local theatre company to hopefully get her to open up. She attended an all girls Catholic School. Alexis was discovered a her local mall by modeling agent Page Parkes who saw Alexis and decided that she should and could become a model. During her middle/high school years, Alexis traveled everywhere from LA to Japan doing modeling. After high school, she attended NYU as a film major and still continued to model. Later however she decided that she had had enough of modeling and wanted to change her path so she auditioned for an acting role of Rory Gilmore on The WB’s Gilmore girls and she got the part, and the rest, they say, is history.

Alexis Bledel is one of the most fortunate actresses because she didn’t have any struggle at all to get the part of Rory Gilmore. In fact she auditioned and was handed the part right then and there. They new the role was for her even without seeing all of the other hopeful candidates. This is something that doesn’t usually happen in Hollywood so everyone new that she had natural talent and still had a lot of room to grow as an actress. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California. Alexis has a long time boyfriend, Milo Ventimiglia, who she has been dating for a very long time. She started modeling at 14 years old. She actually hates coffee, and while her character Rory on Gilmore girls lives on coffee, she actually drinks coca-cola out of the supposed coffee mugs. She is best friends with Amber Tamblyn, who she co-stars with on the movie “The sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.” Alexis Bledel wants to be a good role model for all young girls.

Alexis has worked on a lot of other projects besides Gilmore Girls. Her most recent film was “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.” She was apart of the ensemble cast of Sin City. Her first movie film was Tuck Everlasting based on the acclaimed novel by Natalie Babbitt. She has also been a part of Bride and Prejudice. She is also working on the upcoming film I AM Reed Fish.

Even though Alexis is very secretive about her relationship with her boyfriend she has quoted this, “It’s your stuff, and if you share things that are too personal with a magazine or with your public, it’s sort of like it’s not really yours anymore. I don’t like that. I think people with personalities who like to talk about what’s going on in their lives, they’ll talk without really knowing how it’s going to come back and bite them, and generally it does. And luckily, I have the kind of personality where I am extremely private. I don’t really like to tell everyone my business.
