Competing is absolutely the best part of dance.  Maybe its you liking to show your moves off to the judges or you just love to be in front of an audience.  One thing that you need when you compete is judges and their judging.  At some competitions they use judging with bronze( being the lowest score that you can get), silver sterling, silver, gold, and platinum. Being the highest.  Judges also help by making good tips.  They tell dancers what we are good at and stuff that we need to work on.

Hair is also a main part in competitions.  You do not want hair that is lose, long, and keeps going in your face.  That's why you wear it pulled back out of your face.  Dancers usually wear their hair back in a pony tail (low or high), pigtails, braided, and buns.  One way that dancer's and dance teachers decide on which way to wear their hair is by the costume, dance song, and type of dance it is.

Facials and attitude on a dance floor is a big part in competing.  It is so boring when you look like you are not having any fun and looking miserable.  For a happy preppy dance judges enjoy big smiles, facials, and happiness.  If you are doing a sad song than you pretty much want to look sad and get the audience to feel what you are feeling.  Facials can either hurt your dance or help it a lot.
