Welcome to the ballet section of my webpage.  for ballet, you need to wear ballet shoes.  They're are many different companies that make all different styles of shoes.  Ballet shoes are flat and pink.  (Or if you are a boy, they are black.)  They are one of the easiest type of dance shoes to break in.  Point shoes are another kind of ballet shoes.  They are for more advanced dancers with strong ankles.

In ballet, to warm up you have to stretch and use a ballet bar.  At the ballet bar, you do different positions.  The most common ones are first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth position.  In these positions ballerinas do a lot of lifting legs, pointing their toes, balancing, and warming up their legs.  After they use the bar, they stretch in the middle of the room.  This is when you do splits butterflies, pointing feet, and warming up by yourself.

Most ballet jumps are the same as jazz.  Actually, all dance is based off of ballet.  Some common moves and jumps are leaps, arabesques, kicks, turns, balancing, piqué, lame ducks, pyrite, podagon, assembly, susu, lifts, and attitudes.

Clothing worn for ballet are tights, legwarmers, tutus,  ballet scarves, leotards, uni tards, skirts, and ballet sweaters.  They also wear their hair in a high or low bun.  With a head piece that matches their outfits.  When ever they are performing they usually wear a lot of eye make up and red lipstick to make them stand out more.
