Rupert Grint was born on August 28th, 1988, in Hertfordshire, England. Nigel and Jo Grint are his parents. He has on brother and three sisters, also. Before being selected to play Ron in Harry Potter, he had been limited to performing for plays at school, and at his local theatre group. He too was excited when he heard about the auditions for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. |
| He was adamant about getting one of the leading roles in it, too. He isn’t just doing the Harry Potter films though. As well as them, he is also going to star in a brand new series called Driving Lessons with Laura Linney and Julie Walters, which is set to be released later this year (2006). He enjoys making movies and acting all together. It is one of his favorite things to do, but acting isn’t the only thing that he likes to do. |

He also enjoys learning to ride the unicycle, riding quad bikes, golfing, playing in the pool, playing the guitar, and drawing/ sketching drawings. He is so good that he can draw caricatures within sixty seconds. |

Rupert is a funny guy not only in the movies, but in real like, too. His favorite actors are Jim Carrey and Mike Myers, two of the funniest guys in the show business today! He entered a video of himself rapping about the role of Harry Potter at the age of eleven. |

was also dressed as his drama club teacher. To top it off, he “forgot”
to write the essay describing his character (Ron Weasley) to the
director (Alfonso Cuaron), because that is what Ron would’ve done.
He has won some awards and has been nominated for many. An award he has been nominated for is the Empire Awards for the Best Debut. One that he has won is Young Artist Award for Most Promising New Comer. |
