  Clark Haggans is one of the linebackers on the Steelers.  He was born on January 10, 1977.  He weights around 243 pounds and is six foot four inches tall.  Clark attended Colorado State University.  Haggans has been a backup linebacker and special teams player.  He moved into the starting lineup in the 2004 season.  He was selected as the 2003 special teams captain.  Clark Haggans finished his 2004 season with 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.  
 

Deshea Townsend, an 8-year veteran, has developed into a great starter and is one of the team’s best cover corners.  Townsend is five foot ten inches tall and weights 190 pounds.  He was born September 8, 1975.  Deshea went to Alabama for college.  Last year was Deshea’s first year in the starting lineup.  He spent the past couple seasons as the team’s nickel back.  Townsend had a team-high 14 passes deflected.  Last, he had four interceptions and one of those he ran back for a touchdown.

  Chris Hope was a third-round draft pick in 2002.  Hope was born on August 28, 1980.  He is five foot eleven inches tall and weights about 206 pounds.  Florida State University was Hope’s college of choice.  Chris Hope is a big-time hitter and a solid free safety for the Steelers.  Chris started all of the sixteen regular-season games for the Steelers in 2004.  Hope racked up seventy-two unassisted tackles in 2004, which was second best on the squad.  Hope teams with Polamalu to make up one of the best young safety tandems in the National Football League.
  James Farrior is six foot five inches tall and weights about 243 pounds.  Farrior was born on January 6, 1975.  He attended Virginia for college.  James was voted team MVP last season.  Also, last season he played in his first Pro Bowl after producing the best season in his eight-year career.  Farrior led the Steelers with 119 tackles and 82 of those tackles were solo.  He also had four forced fumbles and three recovered fumbles in all one season.  Last, Farrior also recorded four sacks and a career-high four interceptions in the regular season.
  Troy Polamalu attended the University of Southern California for college.  He is five foot ten inches tall and weights about 212 pounds.  He was born on April 19, 1981.  Troy earned his first Pro Bowl berth during his second year in the National Football League and his first year as a starter.  Polamalu is arguably one of the most physical safeties in the game.  Troy Polamalu led all the Steeler players in the regular season with five interceptions.  He tied for second on the team with 96 total tackles.  Sixty-six of the tackles were solo.
  Larry Foote was born on June 12, 1980.  He weights about 239 pounds and is six feet tall.  He attended the University of Michigan.  He is another linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Foote has contributed on special teams and a starter when he is called upon.  Foote came up big in 2004 because he started all sixteen regular-season games.  Larry Foote was the fourth round draft pick in 2002.  Foote was also one of the seven 2002 draft choices to make the final roster for that season.
 

Wille Williams is 35 years old.  He was born on December 26, 1970.  Wille weights around 194 pounds and he is five foot nine inches tall.  The college he went to was Western Carolina.  Williams returned to the Steelers where he began just eight years ago.  Wille is a veteran cornerback.  He brings a lot of experience to an inexperienced secondary.  Williams moved up into the starting lineup in the seventh game of the 2004 season where he has stayed ever since.

 

Kimo Von Oelhoffen weights about 299 pounds but he is six foot four inches tall.  He is 35 years old, which would make him born on January 30, 1971.  The college Kimo attended was Boise State.  Kimo has been the anchor on Pittsburgh’s defensive front since arriving as an unrestricted free agent in 2000.  In 2003, von Oelhoffen had his best season.  He led the team in sacks for the first time in his career.  He registered eight sacks for losses adding up to forty-two yards lost.

 

Joey Porter is a defensive co-captain and spiritual leader of the team.  Porter was born on March 22, 1977.  He weights 250 pounds and is six foot three inches tall.  Joey attended Colorado State University for college.  Porter finished the 2004 season tied for second on the team for sacks with seven.  Joey Porter went to Hawaii for his second Pro Bowl in the past three years.  Porter also earned second-team All-Pro honors in the 2004 season.

 

Casey Hampton attended the University of Texas for his college years.  He is six foot one inch tall and weights about 325 pounds.  Casey was born on September 3, 1977.  He was a Pro Bowl selection after his 2003 season because he had recorded a career-high forty-four total tackles, including one sack, and he also snagged two interceptions.  Hampton was the first round draft pick in 2001.  He is an immovable person who takes up two offensive linemen.  This allows the linebackers to run free to the football.

 

Aaron Smith, a defensive end for the Steelers, went to Northern Colorado for college.  He weights around 298 pounds and is six foot five inches tall.  He is 29 years old.  His birthday is April 9, 1976.  Smith was named to the 2005 Pro Bowl because of his impressive development.  Aaron has been a very productive player for the Steelers’ defensive front.  He has started seventy-nine consecutive games plus six playoff games.  Aaron Smith led the team with eight sacks during the regular season.  He also added three forced fumbles and had two recoveries.
