
| Megadeth has had many different members throughout their career. Dave Mustaine founded the band so he has always been with the band, along with Dave Ellefson. Originally Dave wanted to get Diamond's Heads singer Sean Harris, but it didn't work out and became lead vocalist. He also had Kerry King as a temporary member. He helped to get the band started then left the band. King has his own band, Slayer. Alice Cooper also was a temporary member to help out the band. |

| This is the band from 1986-1989. Mustaine and Ellefson fired Poland and Samuelson. for rumored drug abuse. They hired Chuck Belher on drums, and Jeff Young on guitar to replace them. Later, Mustaine wrote a song called 'Liar" and dedicated it to Chris Poland. |

This is the band from 1989-1998. Dave Mustaine thought "So Far, So Good, So What?", was short lived and fired Chuck Behler and Jeff Young. The band hired Nick Menza, on drums, and Marty Freidman on guitar. This line-up lasted for ten years. The longest out of all of the line-ups. |
| In 1998 Nick Menza left the band, due to a tumor in his leg. The band hired Jimmy Degrasso to replace him on drums. Marty Freidman stayed until 2000. |

This is Megadeth in 2000. The new members are Al Pitrelli, Jimmy Degrasso. Al Pitrelli is on drums and Jimmy Degrasso is on guitar. It is Dave Mustaine on the dar left and Dave Ellefson in the middle. Dave asked Chris Poland if he wanted to rejoin the band, but Chris declined due to his solo album he was working on. |
