Kennywood

 

 

 

 

 

  Kennywood's Jackrabbit is the oldest roller coaster in the park. It was built in 1921. The wooden coasters top speed is 45 miles per hour. It is known for it's 85 foot double dip.

 

  The Racer is one of Kennywood's tamest rollercoaster's. The Racer has two cars, and they race each other. The original Racer was destroyed in 1990, and rebuilt again in 1927.

 

  The Thunderbolt is a unique wooden rollercoaster. It has a 90 foot drop, and a top speed of 55 miles per hour. The Thunderbolt opened in 1968, and is still a great ride today.

 

  The Log Jammer is a water ride, but passengers do not get as wet on it as some of Kennywood's other rides. It is the only ride that pictures can be taken during ride, and can be bought. This famous ride opened in 1975.

 

  The Whip is Kennywood's oldest flat ride, which opened in 1918. Sixteen cars go around in a circle, and "Whip" around a corner.

 

 

 

 

The Pitt Fall is a fairly new ride at Kennywood Park. This 251 foot tower was built in 1997. The view from the top of the Pitt fall can provide you with a view of Lost Kennywood, the Monongahela River, and the rest of the park. The Pitt Fall is Kennywood's tallest ride.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Gran Prix, otherwise known as the Bumper Cars opened in 1997. This ride gives you a great chance to "bump" some friends around.

 

  The Aero 360 is defiantly one of Kennywood's most thrilling rides. Riders swing back and forth on the Kennywood Aero's. The Aero's swing higher and higher and they eventually go in a complete circle. the aero 360 was newly added to Kennywood in 2000 in place of the Wonderwheel.

 

  The Pittsburgh Plunge is located in Lost Kennywood. The Plunge opened in 1995. The chute-the-chute ride makes a gigantic splash as it plunges down a 50 foot drop, soaking the riders and the onlookers.

 

 

 

The Merry-Go-Round is located in the heart of Kennywood. It was built in 1899 and hand crafted by William Dentzel.
