Nintendo's Biggest Hits

Metroid is yet another great decision by Nintendo.  You play as Samus Aran, one of the few female main characters out there.  With her extensive line of games, for numerous systems, she is a sure success.  Her most recent game, Metroid Prime: Hunters for the Nintendo DS, is already a huge hit.  With the great idea of giving a free demo with the purchase of all of the original Nintendo DS’ many people liked the game before it came out.  Another of the personal favorites of mine and I am sure many other too.  There are about 7 games currently in the Metroid genre, not including those that feature her, but she does not staring specifically, Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee.  She is used in those games, but they also feature other big hits such as Fox, Captain Falcon, and Donkey Kong.

Samus might not have been in the number 1 game, but she did hold positions that were pretty impressive, such as 10, 11, and 12.  10, being Metroid Prime, 11, being Metroid, and 12, being Super Metroid.  First introduced in 1987, Metroid, along with Zelda, and Mario are the main reasons why Nintendo is still so successful.  The various pictures are a few screenshots, or a game cover, taken from the multiple games.  Metroid, not Nintendo’s biggest hit, but certainly one of them, is a great series that should be played by every gamer out there.  Without playing at least one of the Metroid games, you can never consider yourself a true gamer.

“What is that giant building for,” she wonders as she prepares to embark on yet another journey.
