*N Sync quickly became very popular. Their first album, self titled as *N Sync, was released in 1998 with two singles “I Want You Back”, and “Tearin’ Up My Heart”. They toured all over the country, singing anywhere such as malls, fairs, radio stations, and so on to promote their album. They didn’t have very much success then, until Disney asked them to perform at Walt Disney World. The performance would be on the Disney Channel station, and “N Sync in Concert” was shown on the Disney Channel in July of 1998. The show was so popular that it was telecast several other times that year, and it brought the group instant fame. After becoming popular, N Sync made many appearances on many shows such as “The Tonight Show”, “The Rosie O’Donnell Show”, Miss Teen USA pageant, “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee”, and many more. They also made appearances in many other places which brought more and more fans. |

Their CD sold over 10 million copies and their US tour was completely sold out. The CD had four No. 1 hit singles. Their second album released was “No Strings Attached”, which was just as popular as their first album. The album sold 1.19 million copies its first day. That was a new record, with the previous record being set by the Backstreet Boys. By 2001, with the album being released in 2000, they had sold over 17 million copies and produced three hit singles. |

*N Sync’s “Celebrity” CD failed to meet expectations for popularity. The band split up a year later. Joey Fatone says that it was because they wanted to take a break after seven years. He said that they may come back later on. As of right now, we are still waiting for one of the most popular boy bands ever to come back and amaze us again. |
