The song,
Think of Me, is sung by Christine at an opera that is supposed to
be sung by the lead soprano, Carlotta, who had recently quit her job.
This is also a scene where Rauol finds Christine and falls in love with
her. |
 When Meg Giry goes to visit Christine, wondering where she is after her
performance, Christine explains how she feels about singing and reveals
her new tutor to her in the song Angel of Music. |

 The song All I Ask of You
is a song of proposal to Christine by Rauol as the Phantom eavesdrops,
his heart is broken. Christine and Rauol are getting married and the
Phantom’s love has slipped away from his hands. |
Six months
later, a Masquerade is held to celebrate a New Year. At this
time, the Phantom comes to deliver a message to the public to say that
he has written a play, Don Juan, and is placing Christine as the lead
role. |
 When Carlotta
comes back to see who sent her a letter, André and Firman ask her to
stay and sing since Christine is nowhere to be found. She refuses, but
André starts to persuade her by singing Prima Donna. |

The Phantom of the Opera is well known for its music. In the opening
scene of the play, the auctioneer reveals the chandelier once broken,
but now repaired and the Overture is played. This song is simply
instrumental and is a ‘reprise’ of the song The Phantom of the Opera.
In the song, The Phantom of the Opera, Christine is ‘under a
spell.’ She is persuaded that that the Phantom of the Opera is her Angel
of Music her father has told her about. The Phantom had already fallen in
love with Christine but she is not ready for that quite yet.
As Christine follows what her
script says and sings the opera the Phantom has made, there is yet,
another spell cast. The Phantom then asks her to marry him by singing
The Point of No Return. Rauol finds this is enough and starts to run
down for assistance, but Christine pulls off the Phantom’s mask so the
world can see. This is also the famous scene of where the gigantic
chandelier falls. He then takes her once more to his lair.
